How to build a future growth little league baseball season

Time to act.

Amateur baseball population in America every year meet about 16 million players including little leagues and travel ball teams there is some common factors that affect the game in one way or another.

Among the most well-known are lack of qualified trainers, lack of volunteers and disparity between levels of competition.

The issue of the current failures will be discussed in another blog. now that the fall is over let’s talk about planning for the next season.

We talk about a positive season, where our young players make more contact with the ball, they can have a better arm action, that the fun is not limited to jokes and laughter among teammates but also see that enjoyment on the field when they get a hit, can strike out an opponent or simply make a catch, that enjoyment is what we talk about and of course the satisfaction of knowing that your family and friends are in the stands supporting your participation.

Let’s take a closer look at the 6 seeds we are sowing today for the well-being of tomorrow’s baseball.

A good arm action involve all defensive positions is not only for pitching the best arm actions in baseball the better all leagues will be.

A good Arm Action at youth ages

A healthy Arm.

No matters how old you are a good arm action will give you predictable benefits.

According to recent reports there has been an increase in the number of pitching arm injuries at young ages, the result is the same young people out of baseball sooner or later, because arm injury.

That is why having already identified this great problem that affects young people in baseball we have the responsibility to take action to prevent it. at the beginning of the next season educate yourself, no matter if you have experience or not, no matter if you are in the volunteer coaches or not, let’s educate ourselves.

Don’t be shy, the first time you have a chance to talk to the team’s coach, ask what their plan is regarding arm care, pitching limits or number of innings pitched for the season.

Stop complaining if your coach has no pro baseball background, many times coaches in charge of a little league team do not have a lot of experience, be kind and look for a solution here are some ideas:

  • Talk to the league board and ask what possibilities there are for cross-training between experienced and novice coaches before the games start.

  • Evaluate the possibility of hiring an experienced coach as a consultant, bringing in a coach to help with a short training plan is not expensive and any fees could be shared among the team parents who want to participate which would reduce costs and leverage the development of all team members.

Do your homework, try to repeat what players do in practice at home this will be complement and you will share quality time with your kid

Position Rotation

Make sure all players try all position at the beginning no one should be assigned for only one position, the must they try the better for them to understand the game in different point of view.

Opportunity at the mount

The more time the hit the ball, less chances for depression, shame, or frustrations, with better coordination players will be able to hit more, to catch more and react better during the field.

Eye Hand coordination

There are hundreds inning in one season, let the kids feel the experience hands on the mount, if possible, make a rotation that will help arms to stay healthy and injury free, ready to come back next year.

We all together can do a lot of things on behalf of baseball as Sport.

A team sports need TEAMS of people organized

Baseball needs you to act NOW

Coach Joseph Gutierrez

The more time the hit the ball, less chances for depression, shame, or frustrations, with better coordination players will be able to hit more, to catch more and react better during the field.

Professional baseball has already taken actions to make the game more entertaining, more dynamic, and more fun, all-in recent seasons we have witnessed these changes can also transform them for non-professional baseball especially that practiced at an early age, the same reason to make it more fun and more dynamic that is the essence of this sport.  At pro level universal designated hitter, implement a pitch clock for the first time at the Major League level. As well as banning defensive shifts and adopting wider bases, intentional no-pitch intentional ticketing.

At little league level we encourage everyone look at the league where they belong to see what changes can be made to make minor league baseball a better place, a place where kids can play injury free in the short and long term, where they can enjoy themselves from the moment, they are at home putting on the uniform until they come back home with a good experience.

We encourage you to educate yourself, and seek help, it is true that there are more volunteer coaches than experienced coaches but I am sure that those with experience will be very willing to help the baseball community in need, one of the benefits of the baseball community is that we learned to work as a team so let’s make this real, it is time that we make this real.

Share experiences Action 1

Leagues Board members try PRE-Season to cross-training practice plan, injury free bring together the more experienced coaches with the inexperienced volunteers who can talk about past experiences and get a better idea of what is going to happen in the upcoming season

“We all know the challenges of recreational baseball today, the question to answer is if we already know what the difficulties are facing baseball what are we waiting for to make the corrections?

Learn Action 2

Learning is key to the change we desire, I particularly like the way USA baseball has a free online program that is friendly to people with or without baseball experience, and the National Alliance for Youth Sports is also very good.

Volunteering Action 3

Little leagues reflect the quality of volunteerism they receive, make your league a source of pride register as a volunteer share time with your children and community members the purpose of baseball is that both you and your child feel the desire to come back next season see you soon
